Liturgical Ministries

Ordained Celebrantthe priest or bishop who celebrates the mass

Lectors or Readers – entrusted with reading the first reading during daily mass and the first and second readings at Sunday masses and other major feasts

Altar Servers – assist the priest in the celebration of the mass.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion – non-ordained people who help with the distribution of communion

Music Ministers and Cantors provide music during the mass and other liturgical celebrations and lead the congregation in singing

Arts and Environment – people who ensure the liturgical environment is reverent, attractive and liturgically appropriate

Greeters and ushers – hospitality ministry greeting and welcoming people
